If it makes you feel any better, apparently one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein, is emailing everyone he knows and encouraging them to support Polanski. It may be that many of the people who are signing it are being pressured into it. Which is no excuse, in my opinion, but might be considered mitigating? maybe?
