We live in a post-racism society! Right?!

Embedded video from CNN Video

Edit: Hmm, embedding isn't working. Video is here.

Oh yeah. Post racism!

One thing, as a southerner, although I haven't seen this happen in Georgia, I'm surprised nobody's voted the sign down manually. I've never had the balls to leap out of a car myself but I've even seen people do it in front of me at stoplights. (Probably not by destroying it, usually by stealing the letters off it or if it's a sign pounded into the ground, yanking it up and leaping back into the car with it.)

In Alabama we maintain the southern niceity not to say controversial stuff to people's faces...and the right to wage guerilla warefare. Mostly, though, it makes me suspicious that area is too country for any 16-30 somethings to really leap out of their cars at it. :\

voted the sign down manually

I love this expression! Never heard it before, but I *will* be co-opting it in the future. ;)

And I was thinking when I watched this that if I saw it, I'd want to go and at least pull down some of the letters, but I'm not sure I trust people who'd say something like that to not get violent in their disagreement if I did. :\ I'm just glad I haven't seen anything like that in my part of NC. Honestly, our area is pretty liberal for the South, so I doubt we'd see it here.

Wow. Just wow!! That clip reminded me of when Top Gear Drove through the Southern U.S.

I love it how CNN makes it seem like the entire South is just like this idjit. And, yanno, I'm from the Deep South (Mississippi actually) and most of us aren't like that. Sheesh.
