Ian Somerhalder joins "Vampire Diaries" -- I approve of this casting!

Variety says Ian Somerhalder has joined the cast of "Vampire Diaries". Somerhalder, formerly of "Lost", will play Damon, a 'smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.'

Can I just say how very much I approve of this casting? *ahem*
