I didn't think I was going to be this bummed that Shane was dead. The character had kind of gone into crazyland to the point that I wasn't enjoying it so much. But then I look at pictures like this, and *wibbles more*. They really were brothers, and that makes it all the more tragic. Oh, Show, why you wanna hurt me that way? :(

And someone on my flist the other day pointed out a tweet from...erk, someone or other who is in charge of the show? Ha, I have no idea, but ANYWAY, they said Shane was the hardest character to kill off because Jon Bernthal really wanted to stay. :( At least he has his new show. STILL. HE WANTED TO STAY AND THEY KILLED HIM OFF ANYWAY. *clings omg*

I'm looking -- or I was looking, but then I found this article about him leaving the show and OMG -- the more I read it, the sadder I get, Rachel! I'm seriously upset about this now. :( :( :(

Oh, that is SUCH a great interview. And the picture above is awesome. I like what he says in the interview, though, that it really did come down to the fact that it was Shane's time to go. I'm so glad that he & Andrew Lincoln are such good friends IRL.

Because you're so wrapped up in the show that you forget about the writers? That's how I feel.

Oh definitely. I remember being at the Paley festival and they said they really didn't want any of the cast to go; especially Jon. That's one of the reasons why they held off on killing Shane. Cause he goes in the first volume of the comic.

I do miss their brotherhood/epically doomed broomance they had going on. They were partners, best friends, but the ZA tore then apart.

I think I am deeply, deeply in denial about the whole thing. Like there is a little corner of my brain where that little incident didn't happen, the boys kissed and made up and they're co-leading the group, who are, of course, very pleased with that arrangement. It all works out very well in my brain. *clings*

I'm very much a fan of whatever helps get you through it - denial seems to be the way most of us are handling it. In my head, Shane and Andrea said "screw these idiots" and took off on their own, where they are happily kicking zombie ass and living the good life of the ZA. It works for me. *clings*
