(no subject)

I've now seen the Battlestar Galactica miniseries and omg I LOVE IT. And amazingly, there seem to be no skeevy race and gender issues so far. There's an awesomely diverse cast and the women, though they are beautiful, are not just there for the t&a factor. They have purposes! And not just the purpose of window dressing! And the president of the colonies is an over-40 woman with OMG A BRAIN. Anyway, I'm starting in on season 1, but I doubt I have time to make it through all three (?) seasons before the new season starts next month. THANK YOU to those who pimped it to me. :D

I'm watching SGA, too -- hooray for Sci-Fi airing season one during the week! I considered buying season one today -- even had it in my hand -- but talked myself out of it for the time being. I'm really liking this show, too! Also thank you to the people who pimped it to me!

Still working on Torchwood and a couple of the other shows, too. :)

YAY!!! BSG is the Best Damn Show on TV, hands down. I adore it so much. I look forward to chatting with you about it as you catch up. It's just...so good. Even when it's in a slump, it's still good. It has great gender dynamics in my opinion, and it's diverse and those diverse characters have actual roles! So yeah, plus the writing is just so frakking AMAZING. And the social commentary is done so well...it's just such a smart, thought-provoking, action-packed, well-written show. GAH. I love it so.

Ok, I'm such a fangirl for it :D

And yay, for Tochwoord. It's cracktastically fun. Did you watch Doctor Who first?

I could really smite myself for not checking this out sooner. If the quality of the series matches the quality of the miniseries, I may have a new favorite show. I think part of the reason I avoided it this long is I have a lot of nostalgia for the cheesy 70s BSG; it was actually one of my first fandoms. I guess I was convinced it could never be as good as the original, cheese and all.

It's amazing to me to see a series do such a seamless job on the race and gender issues. They make it look effortless, which is the way it should be. I'm kinda mentally glaring at TPTB at SPN right now; they're looking pretty rough by comparison.

I've seen Doctor Who really sporadically -- sporadically enough to be really confused by it. *g* I've gotta just break down and DL all of it and start over from the start; hopefully then I won't be spending so much time going O_o.
