TV Guide interview with Jensen, from HERE. Mild spoilers, but only if you haven't seen any of season three.

TV Guide: There are Samoholics and Deaniacs out there. You each have your own coterie of fans, don't you?
Ackles:What's funny is the network always talks about how we skew to a younger audience, but at the events we go to, the ones who show up at the set are usually women ages 30 to 50. It's actually pretty cool.

ZOMG they love us 'mature' fans \o/ !! *g*

Seriously, though, I really like that they know who a large part of their audience is -- not that there's anything wrong with an under-30 audience at all, but I do sometimes think The CW just doesn't get that we're out here. Or doesn't care that we're out here, maybe.

TV Guide: Is it true you and Jared had a bonding experience when you were attacked by some rowdy Canadians?
Ackles: You mean when Jared, his buddy Jordan and I were jumped by seven or eight guys? There had been this fight at a bar and these guys got kicked out. They were pretty tanked. This one girl sees me walking by and says, "That's the guy," meaning she knew me from the show, but they thought I was some guy she had been fighting with. They started swinging at me and it was an all-out brawl.

TV Guide: How'd you do?
Ackles:We got away and put two of them in the hospital. I got away first, then I turn around and see three or four guys teaming up on Jared. I was like, "Oh, man!" I run back in and I'm fly-kicking at some kid, hit another guy, grabbed Jared's shirt — of course, I ripped his favorite shirt — and I'm yelling "C'mon, let's get out of here!" We were pretty tight after that.

They've mentioned that fight before, of course, but holy crap THREE OR FOUR guys were teaming up on Jared?! And Jensen came running back in fly-kicking (WTF IS FLY-KICKING; CAUSE IT SOUNDS VAGUELY KINKY, YO), punched a guy and dragged Jared out of there by his SHIRT (RIPPING IT OMG) and, okay, where is the RPS of this and the adrenaline-fueled post-fight sex? *gimme hands*

Oh, that interview is awesome. CW, do you hear this? The actors on the show have a better grasp of their audience than you do, and think you should be promoting it more! More love for Jensen for not sucking up to the network.

And the fight...I can just hear Jared afterward: "Dude, this is my favorite shirt! You ripped it!" Nevermind any bruises or cuts. hehe

And seven or eight "pretty tanked" guys against three sober ones, two of whom have been training in hand-to-hand combat for their work....yeah, they didn't stand much of a chance. If I were going to be walking down any dark alleys, I'd want Jared and Jensen with me. For defense, or....whatever. ;)

Actually, it is better if the CW doesn't know that you mature fans are out there; you are not who their advertisers want because the advertisers are still stupid enough to think that those under 24 have disposable income. To which I say, NO, those under 24 have their mom's disposable income, which she would prefer to spend on herself after they hit 18, thank you very much!

Also, Cons tend to be for mature fans as well. In age if not in manners :P I wonder how old the crazy flying fan girl was?

I had a dream last night that Kripke decided to go for the Dean/Ellen relationship for the unresolved John feelings and all the angst, and then they had to lock down the set because all the cougars thought that this meant that they had a shot with Jensen. Damn funny dream!

Dude, I want your dreams! Also, from your dreams to Kripke's ears on the Dean/Ellen. 'Cause DAYUM. I mean, I know it'll never happen, 'cause they've got Ellen all set up as a maternal figure, but man, that'd be awesome.

And I think you're right about the advertisers, unfortunately. Anyway, I kinda like it that the actors see and acknowledge the older fans amid the young ones. They don't have to start getting Metamucil to advertise for them or anything. *g*

Enjoying younger men is not only allowed, it is encouraged, but when you see women who goes after young men to the point of embarrasment... Cougar!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's where he broke his hand, or maybe just initially hurt it and then it was made worse when he took the fall in CSPWDT. But seriously, three or four against one?! And Jensen to the rescue! :D

RPS = real person sex, also called RPF/real person fiction. So, Jensen/Jared instead of Dean/Sam. *is evol* Oh, and Sam Ferris says they all totally know about all the fanfic, that they have people on the payroll who keep track of all the activity online.
