I've pinpointed what skeeves me fundamentally about this show.

When Echo is wiped, she acts a lot like my son, who has autism.

And right now, she's trapped in a room with people who are not being nice to her. :(

I actually don't have a problem with that part, because I think they've made the show dark enough that we know all this stuff really /isn't/ okay. I mean, we're not talking "I Dream of Jeannie" here.

It didn't turn out to be as bad as I feared, because Rodney didn't actually turn out to act much like my mom does, but it was damned close enough. Ow ow ow ow ow. Well, I bailed on Dollhouse tonight. I watched The Ruins on HBO which I hadn't seen yet. Based on what you said The Ruins was better.

I've only seen the first episode and I'm not sure how I feel. None of the characters catch me and that is usually what makes a show work for me as an ongoing sort of thing.

I have a friend who won't watch it cos of the implication that the 'dolls' are taken and wiped without their consent. It is definitely an iffy show morally.
