Ugh, I woke up in the middle of a dream where I was supposed to have been taking care of someone's dogs for them, but I realized I had forgotten to go feed/water them for like a WEEK, and I was trying really hard to get to the house where they were kept, but things kept happening that stopped me. And I woke up before I could get to them, and now I'm still feeling all sad/upset/guilty over these IMAGINARY DOGS that I IMAGINED NEGLECTING. I mean, wtf, brain?

Coffee, stat.

Somewhat less distressing (but even more with the wtf) is this video (found by [livejournal.com profile] mistigris on boingboing):

So, what do you think: real or fake?

I think I'm calling fake on this one. Although it looks pretty real when the guy throws the monitor at the woman in the cubicle beside his, I just don't buy that they'd all just sit/stand there doing nothing while this guy went on the rampage. Each one of them had a phone at his/her desk, and I didn't see any of them picking one up, either to call for help or just go 'ZOMG there's a guy going crazy in here!'. And only a couple of people actually left the room, which would've been my first instinct. So, yeah, I think it was fake.

Edit: WTH happened to IMDB?

OMG!!! WTF!!! What on earth made him go off? Where is security? If this is real... judging from the reactions it seems to be. I hope some one had enough sense to call the police.

Fake. The computer monitors behind him look way too static, and someone just *happens* to have a pie chart on their screen? ;-)

Your dream

Hope you don't mind an interpretation of the dream. If it's not ok then I apologize and please feel free to delete this comment.

In Native American teachings or 'medicine' dogs stand for loyalty and service to others.

What I get from this dream is that there is the possibility that there is someone who has been loyal to you who has in turn asked you do them a favor or possibly entrusted you with something important to them that needs to be done or taken care of.

The dream seems to indicate that because of major life issues and events you have been going through, this possible favor or trusted task has slipped your mind or been neglected and now you are suddenly feeling as if you need to rush to get this done or taken care of.

You might want to check around and see if there is anything you promised someone you would do or take care of that has consciencely slipped your mind (but is still hanging around in your subsconscience mind)

Can also indicate your own worry that you have been relying on others through your difficult time so much that you feel like you aren't giving anything back to them (which is more than likely just a groundless fear and not a reality).

Anyway that's what I got from it and I hope you are ok with this.

I'm totally with you. I think it's fake. If it were real, I suppose people would do something, even if it's just calling security or something. *shrugs*

I want to know what happened to imdb, too. co.uk works still.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the video. I think the fact that nobody seems to be able to figure out where it came from suggests that it's fake more than anything else. You'd think that'd be in the news somewhere.

Although I have to keep laughing when people keep saying, "Why would they call security?" etc. Um... I've never really worked in a place that had any kind of security that wasn't for keeping out bad customers or making sure we weren't selling stuff.

Actually, everybody standing around and doing nothing to me makes it seem a little more real. It's called the bystander effect; people don't do anything to help if there are other people around and the more people, the less likely they are to do nothing. If there had been running and screaming and security bursting in, I'd have called staged because while it does happen, how many times have I seen that in movies? But who would bother to locate a psychological phenomenon that makes people behave opposite of what we would think and opposite what we see in media and tell everybody to act like that? Unless it's just bad acting. ;-D Don't know about how real the rest of it is, but everybody standing around doing nothing, totally realistic. And how many office buildings have much security that is present during the day? In any of my parents' it's all electronic to keep people out, not personnel equipped to deal with rampaging cube dwellers.

er, the less likely they are to do anything. or the more likely they are to do nothing.
