I have to admit I never loved Tumblr. It took me for-freaking-ever to figure out what the hell a reblog was and why I might want to use it, much less what a queue was, and the comments system is abysmal. There's no good way to have much of a conversation on posts there. But it's where fandom gathered, so I'm doing the best I can. The pics and gifs are pretty; I'll admit that much. And I've met some truly precious folks there, like my sweet [profile] disaronnus <3 <3 <3. I don't look forward to the fandom exodus (if indeed that's where we're headed) from Tumblr, though, because we're going to lose people in the process, and that makes my stomach hurt. Y'all are my people, in nearly every way that matters. All of you.

I really, really, really want there to be a permanent fandom home sometime during my lifetime. I want to know that the conversations and metas and manips and gifs and squee are always going to be there, just like we're now pretty confident that our fanfic will always be there via AO3. We can back up our journals, but we can't back up everything that makes fandom our home.

Anyway, look at me being all melancholy, haha. Just know if you're reading this, you're important to me, okay? I don't want to lose you personally, and I don't want fandom to lose you. *hugs like whoa*

Semi-randomly, my LJ is backed up here, and I spent some time last night looking through a bunch of my oooooold posts. Wow, you know? Who was that person?

...since it appears they're nominally back up (yay!), but I can't do anything beyond looking at my home feed (Ugh.)

Have I mentioned how much I hate change?

Anyway, I know they must be getting a huge influx of traffic now that Tumblr has declared its intention to shoot itself in the foot uh... shit the bed outlaw female presenting nipples, but it's not doing my anxiety any favors since what seems to be most of fandom's next golden child is basically barely holding itself together atm.
