After getting Sera Gamble's gracious reply yesterday about how much the writers appreciate Supernatural's fans, I thought it'd be great if we fans did something for the writers to let them know how much we appreciate them. Joss Whedon's fans had pizza sent to the writers on picket lines, which I thought was a great idea.

Let's send something to our own writers! No matter what our opinions about the strike itself, I think we can all agree that our show has some of the best writers going. [livejournal.com profile] spadada has volunteered to take some fruit and water out to the writers at WB studios this afternoon. If you'd care to donate towards feeding the writers, it would be greatly appreciated -- you can send it to my Paypal account (toastytravesty @ gmail.com).

We're also in need of a catchy slogan! Personally, I'm amused by the idea of handing SPN writers a shiny red apple after last week's episode -- maybe we can incorporate something along those lines?

Awesome idea, what can I do to help?

Yay! Well, if you want to donate a few dollars, that would be helpful (you can send it to my paypal address above if that works for you.) We need help coming up with a great slogan, too -- have any ideas?

Randomly, your icon makes me giggle every single time. :D

Okay, done! Okay, for a slogan...let's see...

Supernatural Writers! You're Delicious!
Love Me Some Pie and Supernatural!
I Hope Your Frigging Apple Pie and Strike is Worth it!

Something along those lines, since it's food related, it HAS to be something from Dean, methinks. :)

Got it -- thank you again! :D

I Hope Your Frigging Apple Pie and Strike is Worth it!

Okay, this very nearly made me choke on my peanutbutter sandwich -- I love it! Unfortunately, I'm not so sure about using it, 'cause it might be taken to mean that we're opposed to the strike. :( We need to stay neutral as much as possible, I think.

Ooh, I kinda like "Supernatural Writers Are Delicious!" :D

I think it would be kind of hilarious if we could somehow send them pie. XD

Hee! I love that idea. I think [livejournal.com profile] spadada is planning on going more than just today, so maybe pies would be a way to go on the next run. "Love me some pie -- and our writers!"

*really sucks at slogan-making* :)

Haha, no, I think it works fine! "We love us some pie like we love us our writers!" or something along those lines.

I SUPPORT PIE (AS DEAN WOULD)

But how would they eat the pie while on the picket line?

Donation sent! And I'm for the pie thing :D The apples might be seen as inciting violence (ie tempting them to lob them at the studio execs).

Thank you so much, sweetie! :D I really like the idea of pies, definitely. I'll need to talk to [livejournal.com profile] spadada about it, though, 'cause she's the one who'll ultimately have to be hauling whatever we send out to the picket lines. *g*

Also, you'd only want to do single serving ones, like the Dolly Madison (is that right?) type, because otherwise it'd be too messy and utensil/plate needing.

Sorry that I was away at school. If you still need a flyer I can put one together for you tonight once you pick your slogan. I'll be up all night so just let me know at any time. :)

No problem, hon, and that'd be awesome! I'm hoping the post I sent through to [livejournal.com profile] supernatural_tv will get approved soon so we can get some more suggestions (and donations). The refreshments might not actually get taken to the picket lines today -- there's been a mishap involving a hawk that is delaying [livejournal.com profile] spadada, and she might not be able to make it today.

Anyway, if you want, maybe you could make up a flyer -- you're way more creative than I am, and I bet you could come up with a terrific slogan. The flyer doesn't have to be fancy at all -- I just have in mind something to attach to the box or bag of fruit when [livejournal.com profile] spadada takes it, so people know who it's from.

Thank you so much! :)

All hail spadada for being awesome! And if we only get to them tomorrow, then so be it. How many days are you planning on doing this, and may I ask why fruit?

As for the slogan.... *thinks*

There seems to be another cross fandom thing in the works, which I did hear something vaguely about on Whedonesque yesterday, and apparently they are going forward.

[livejournal.com profile] jenskijen posted a brief thing about it in your Supernatural_tv post, so you might want to contact her and see what is going on. Nothing worse than the fandomd dividing up.

FYI: Whedonverse folks contacted us about what they are doing and a possible ad in Variety by the fans, cross-fandoms. I will keep you posted on the details. =)

And I meant to say, slogan? Picket Time Stories? (After Bedtime Stories.) *snerk*

Oh, man, that's excellent! Is that just for Fandom Rocks? I'd love for us to get Supernatural Underground involved, or this comm. Could you please send me the contact information for the Whedonesque folks?

It's fans, not sure about Whedonesque fans, or just fans at this point. They just wanted to let us know they are organizing and contemplating going cross-fandom. I'll let you know as soon as I know more and YES definitely want to get the whole fandom involved.

Excellent. I'm heading up cross-fandom efforts for Supernatural Underground, so I'll be very interested in hearing about this. :)

Have you joined up over at Whedonesque.org yet? I am over there, and they are wanting to round up the SPN people to start coordinating. I'll send an email and CC you. =)

Hi, my name's Melissa. I wrote a script for Supernatural and I'm starting another one. I've seen all the episodes and am confident in my ideas. Don't worry, all of them are new and different from the rest. I need a little help in getting the exact characters down, but that doesn't interfere much with my writing. I have a dream help write an episode. I've tried my hardest to get in touch with the writers of Supernatural, but I haven't had much luck. I don't know if you can help me but if you can, my e-mail is peoplespersonmsg@aol.com. Ok, well, I don't know what's left so I'll just say thank you.

Thank you so much for organizing all this! And for taking donations! I'm glad I've got somewhere to send something toward the effort. :D
