Future Kripke projects include possible Supernatural spin-off

What would y'all think of some Old West-style Supernatural? Kripke may have a Supernatural spin-off in the works.

I am of two minds on this one... on the one hand Warner Bros loves Kripke which can mean good things for Supernatural (even with the CW medling in everything), and Old West demon hunting would KICK SO MUCH ASS!!!! On the other hand, I don't want Kripke to be divided between two shows unless I know that it will not effect Supernatural in a negative way.

It won't be Supernatural; without the boys it just isn't the same, but it could be really interesting in its own right.

Ohhh, and they could go back to Cold Oak!

I'd love it if we could see Cold Oak back when it was the most haunted ghost town around! heh, it's kind of ironic that I heard about this today after posting my AHBL fic last night. THEY'RE READING MY MIND OMG. *g*

I worry about Kripke getting divided between two shows, too. I still think having Joss running Angel and Buffy at the same time was detrimental to both shows. On the other hand, I do love me some cowboys. :)

Excuse me for a moment if I read into this deal that Supernatural is guaranteed a fifth season (the second year of Kripke's new contract). With the WB starting their online network, they can always just move the show online if the CW does any more damage.

Television NEEDS a well made wild west show again, it really does!

I'm thinking the same thing about a fifth season. Actually, I think once they gave us a fourth season, I think a fifth was a shoe-in, because WB is going to want to squeeze some syndication money out of it, and I think 5 years is the minimum for that. But yeah, this definitely sounds good. :D

Oh man, how awesome would it be to see Sam and Dean in Old West garb? Sadly, I don't think that'll happen, and I'm guessing Jared and Jensen wouldn't much be interested, especially if it meant working the same kind of schedule they have on Supernatural.

yeah, wouldn't it? if that happened I probably would be in a constant state of arousal, though. it's too much a dirty, dirty fantasy. but... they maybe could have cameos, showing up as a pair of demon hunting brothers - and Dean would have a black horse called Impala...

Hmm, it could be interesting. But Kripke by himself is just okay, and it's the other writers / actors / directors that elevate Supernatural from 'good' to awesome.

Good that WB likes Kripke.. And it's interesting because I suggested a plot bunny to a Lancer fic group of a crossover between Supernatural and Lancer!!! Since the Colt was made during that time it would be a logical conclusion to say that 'hunting' went on during that time period..

Old West-style Supernatural would be awesome! Give Kripke the money to hire Bruce Campbell to play Samuel Colt, and there would be no way in the world I would miss that. At the moment I can't feature how Jensen could disguise himself enough to guest star without looking like Time!Travel!Dean, but Jared could grow a huge beard and play a crazy mountain man.

Okay, um....I'll just be over here with my buckskin-clad Jared fantasy. Don't mind me. ;)

Personally, I would love it! I said this before back when it was first leaked that the idea was being thrown around... on BuddyTV.com maybe? Idk. There was a poll or something and a lot of people were saying that if the Winchesters weren't involved, they didn't want to see it, but, seriously? Actual Old West cowboys + Supernatural = "Oh, Hell, YES! I'm there!" *nods sagely*
