This sinus infection is so weird. I don't really feel ill, but my head is spinny and my balance is all shot to hell, even just sitting here. And (relatedly, I suppose) my ears are ringing. My right ear sounds like a combination of TV static and electricity crackling. I really don't want to have to get antibiotics, but this shit is annoying.

Oh, those kinds of infections are pure misery. I find that repeated use of a neti pot with warm salt water helps me (aside from the whole bending over the sink thing making my dizzy self want to fall into the sink), eventually getting things moving again. I credit that and zinc lozenges with letting me dodge more serious infections all winter (as well as the threat of resorting to antibiotics because, ugh). Dunno what things you've tried as part of your anti-winter-virus arsenal, but they've been effective for me.

Just remember to boil your water first: sinuses are way too permeable to things that can cause problems to trust your muni water system.

Ugh, I'm sorry you're feeling so crummy! I hope you can get some relief soon.

I'd say go ahead and get antibiotics, but do take ALL of them, and don't stop when you feel better. But that's just me. I hate suffering. *g*
