One of my favorite non-LJ bloggers is having similar delusions of grandeur about his alma mater, which at last report was ranked Number Five.

As one who is still trying just to climb out of the fucking D1 cellar, my message to you both is: enjoy every moment. Your schools don't need to be football factories for their alumni to be damn proud.

Well, I don't actually have delusions of USC's grandeur -- I know they're a wildly erratic team this year, barely scraping out of games they should by all rights walk away with, and occasionally eking out something amazing against a team we don't even compare with. It makes me crazy sometimes.

Congrats to your team! My other team is a major underdog -- we've won one so far this year. I couldn't be prouder of 'em if they were my own boys, though; they've got heart to spare, and it's a beautiful thing to watch.

Ahh, football season, never leave me. :D

And Kentucky, which we beat last week, just beat #1 LSU, which beat US a few weeks ago.
