Buzzsugar is talking about which British actors have the best American accents. Not surprisingly, Hugh Laurie is at the top of their list, and Anna Friel from Pushing Daisies is #2. There are quite a few other fandom favorites, too, including Jamie Bamber, whose teeny tiny towel American accent impresses me on a weekly basis. There's also Lena Headly from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, who must be good, because I didn't realize she wasn't American, and the late, lamented Jericho's Lennie James.

Who else has a great American accent?

(Please do ignore the fact that I completely missed the "TV" part of the question and posted a comment about Ewan McGregor. *is goober*)

Edit: Updated with the actual link this time *facepalms*

Jason Isaacs has can do several different American accents, all of them good. He's done the sort of standard American accent in several films, a very good Georgia accent in Black Hawk Down and is currently rocking a Rhode Island accent in Brotherhood.

Well, I missed the "tv" part of the question, too, especially since you didn't put it there:P

Tilda Swinton, Kristin Scott Thomas, Minnie Driver. Give me back my country!

She's Australian, not English, but the gal that was on "The 4400." I don't remember her name, but when they did a "behind the scenes" spot on the show, I was /shocked/ at her real accent. It's very strong and pronounced.

Another nod to Hugh Laurie. I also think Damian Lewis does a great job as well.

Ed Westwick (on Gossip Girl) is British, but I wouldn't have known it if I hadn't read about it.

(Seriously slashy show. Yummy.)

I'd give votes to Sophia Myles who was on "Moonlight" and Kevin McKidd from "Journeyman" but apparently no one watched those shows, since they were cancelled unceremoniously (dangit dangit son of a beach) so no one knows or cares. *emo tear*

Movies: Christian Bale. Seriously. x.x

TV: I can't think of anyone better than Hugh Laurie, at the moment. He's damn good.

Movies: Toni Collette. Hands down. Although she's an Aussie, not a Brit.

TV: They've all been mentioned. Minnie Driver in The Riches is pretty good. I didn't think Zoe Slater Michelle Ryan in Bionic Woman was that great, but I've heard worse.

I've read this somewhere else, can't think where at the moment...

*clicks the link*

That'd be the Radio Times, then!
