Oh Em Gee. Ron just reminded me of this song, and I hadn't even THOUGHT of it in like a million years, and I LOVE EEET! Yeah, I know, can't take the Country out of the girl, I know. But when my sister and I were teeny girls, my mom LOVED this song, and she played it ALL THE TIME and we'd all sing along and ♥

So, naturally, youtube has a ton of versions, so I'm sharing a couple, and I DARE YOU not to love this song. SRSLY.

Here's another version -- Tanya Tucker singing it on Hee Haw at age 13. I don't like her singing style as much, but it's still awesome. :D

Also: I have finished my class. SMEAGOL IS FREEEE!

Ha! I recommend this song along with "Angie Baby" to someone who was looking for songs about "crazy women." She laughed at me. I then told her to check out "when God fearing women get the Blues."

She never came back to me.

Ooooh, "Angie Baby"--I love that one! Gotta love Helen Reddy's song choices.

Wow, oh wow. I had forgotten about that song. It never made much sense back then, but I still loved listening to it.

I love Delta Dawn, especially the Helen Reddy version. I also liked Angie Baby and Ruby Red Dress. And for a good 'women who gets revenge song' I love The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia by Vicki Lawrence and my newest one to the list Before He Cheats, by Carrie Underwood (and for the life of me I can't figure out why everytime I hear this song I get the urge to write a fanfic about John Winchester LOL)

Heh, that brings back memories. I used to sing that to myself on the bus. Kind of an odd choice for a grade schooler, but hey. ;) It also reminds me of Harper Valley PTA and Ode to Billy Joe. Man, I LOVED Ode to Billy Joe as a kid. Aaaand, that makes me sound like an emo second-grader. Hee!

Oh, I love that song! so many memories...And I think it's my dad's favorite song, which is saying a lot because he's practically tone deaf, but he still loves it. We used to sing it all the time...
Sigh. Those were good days.

I used to think the guy Delta Dawn was waiting for was Jesus, when I was a kid. Yes, I did grow up in the Bible Belt.
