I miss Ellen. *sigh*

Also, there are lotsa people on my flist going "No Genevieve hating" and not a one that I've seen actually hating. I have the awesomest flist in the history of awesome.

However, I still don't like Ruby 2.0 and am waiting for a good explanation for how the character changed so drastically.

I love love LOVE Legend of the Seeker. OMG so cheesy, and some of the acting is absolutely horrendous (Zedd actor, I'm lookin' at you), but I love Richard in all his Gary Stuish glory (and good GAWD, where has Australia been hiding Craig Horner? MAMA LIKES.) And and and Craig Parker! As a villain called Darken Rahl!

Seriously, more people should be watching this.

Edit:

Craig Horner
Hm?

Meanwhile, I'm losing the Fringe-love. Tonight's episode is really not holding my attention.

I miss Ellen too. :( (And I'm with you: not liking Ruby 2.0 and wanna know WHY she did the 180 degree turnaround.)

I love love LOVE Legend of the Seeker.

That show ROCKS so hard. Cheese factor 6, but the show doesn't take itself seriously - which I absolutely adore! GAH!

It's such a fun show! And hey, nothing wrong with some good cheese now and then, eh? :D

I dun' care whether Jared is dating Miss Cortese or Jensen Ackles or his new freshly knit black scarf of scarfiness that goes with his black shirt.

I just want Jensen to break up with Danneel Harris so I can have her instead. Rowr. ;)

Hee! Danneel's gorgeous, no doubt about it.

And I have a sneaking suspicion the scarf was someone else's idea -- he doesn't strike me as the scarfy sort. *g*

I am about 99% sure that his mom knitted it for him and he's never gonna take it off because he loves his mom.

That is of course the fangirl side of me that also thinks that everything Jared touches turns to skittles. Which means it's probably not functioning and out in la-la land. ;)

The other explanation is that it was in the "experimental" side of Sam Winchester's wardrobe and he borrowed it on accident and his neck was cold.

Oh, honey, I have good news for you if you're a fan of the Seeker books: http://www.legendoftheseeker.com/ :D :D :D

AND it's been renewed for season 2. :D

Be warned, though. There are many, MANY fans of the books who think the series is total garbage. If you realize they are different media and have stories not in the books, you'll be ok.

Terry Goodkind met with Sam Raimi and thought Sam really *got* the books, so he sold the rights. However, when ABC/Disney got their hands on the show, they made some big changes and I understand Terry is no longer in the process.

Have you had a chance to watch Legend of the Seeker? I'd be curious to know what you think of it. For me, it's the chemistry between Craig Horner (Richard) and Bridget Regan (Kahlan) that rocks the show.

Yeah, seems like I read something recently where Goodkind was Not At All Pleased with something to do with the show. I'm reading "Wizard's First Rule", and honestly, I'm enjoying the show more so far. :D

Wait, Craig is in Legend of the Seeker?

Huh.

I've been DVRing and deleting it; maybe I should try DVRing and watching it.

I DVRed, watched and deleted. And THEN I became obsessed. So I bought the season pass from iTunes. Took me 4 tries to get the iPod hooked up to the tv, but now it is and I am in Seeker heaven!

Yeah, can't hurt giving it a try, right? And it has the gorgeous New Zealand scenery going for it, and a female character who kicks ass on a regular basis, and Craig! I'd love to hear your take on it. Hey, maybe we could work it out to "watch" it together on IM. But then, I don't want you to feel pressured to say you like it if you're really not feeling the love for it, so...maybe not.

Either way, *squishes and loves omg*

CRAIG HORNER SO HOT OMG. But he ain't half as lovely as Bridget Regan. I want to marry her and have her babies, regardless of the legal and physical improbability of such a thing. I love her. Love, love, love!

The show is cheese start to finish, but it's actually significantly better than the books so far. There's kind of nowhere to go but up, so I'm digging it!

Bridget is gorgeous! And she kicks ass, which makes her character even more fun. :D I've just started Wizard's First Rule, but I gotta say that I'm not terribly impressed with it so far. I think I went into it with unreasonable expectations -- I had read someone comparing it to LOTR, so, yanno. *g*

I would probably stop after book four if you absolutely must read 'em -- it's all a long, slow road downhill from there, and I say that as someone who eagerly anticipated each book coming out all the way to the end of the series. It just kinda looks a little murkier after the fact! But the books sure give you a better impression of, say, Zedd and his awesomeness than you see from the show. :D

Also, I don't know how you feel about audiobooks? But the audiobook versions of books 1, 2, and 4 are outstanding. The reader is Dick Hill, and he's just terrific start-to-finish. :)

Do you know that Zedd actor is Bruce Spence, who played the Mouth of Sauron in ROTK? With this show, not only can you play Hey It's That Guy, you can play Hey It's That Guy From LOTR! And Craig Horner is very easy on the eyes, yes.

I miss Ellen, too. She needs to come back and give the boys what for.

I didn't know Spence was the mouth of Sauron! Hee! I kind of love him a little more for that. I'm gonna have to go back and watch ROTK now. :D

Legend Of The Seeker!!!! Yes! Love that show! Got hooked on it from the first eppy. And yes, Craig Horner....where has he been all my life? *guh* Sure, he's no Jensen Ackles, but still....certainly nice eye candy. :P

But then, it makes sense that I'd like that show. I watched Hercules and Xena too. ;)

I thought tonight's Fringe was pretty cool.

Hee, I love that so many people on my flist are digging Seeker! Craig Horner is so, so pretty. I need to find something where he's speaking with his own accent; it's a little annoying that everyone has American accents now that I know none of them are Americans. Gimme people's real accents any day. :D

Ahhh, "Legend of the Seeker," my new obsession. (Have you been by my journal with its new header?)

I also lurve Bridget Regan. She & Craig have great chemistry. Craig mentioned in an interview that when they reported to New Zealsnd to start filming, the scripts weren't ready. So they underwent 6 weeks of training-horse-back, sword-fights, etc. He said the two of them bonded. Also, they live about 2 blocks from each other. *squee* I think this is first RL pairing I've wanted.

Yeah, still not a Ruby fan, either 1.0 or 2.0 (Altho I did like Ruby 2.0 beta)

Yes, commenting again. I have been looking for a good LotS message board but haven't found one yet. All the LotS boards are filled with book lovers who HATE the series, and the Confessor and the Seeker board is primarily a couples board. So, whadya think about starting an LotS lovers board? Yeah? Yeah?

Date: 2009-02-12 01:18 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fangirlsays.livejournal.com
I'd definitely come visit if you started a LotS board, even though forums aren't my cup of tea most of the time. I'd love to see a more active LJ community, too, especially since I'm on LJ 90 percent of the time, so -- convenient! Hee! I thought about starting something like a [livejournal.com profile] seeker_tv comm or something, but I suck at getting comms off the ground.

Yes, I've been watching Legend... but I was also a shameless Xena fan and love playing spot the guest star or guest director:) We've been watching on Hulu - it's really much more convenient.

Hi - I found you on the supernatural friending meme, and commented there too. I've added you to my f'list and hope you'll do the same:)

I noted on the other comment that it was rare to find someone who's 40 in the fandoms for Supernatural - so us 40-somethings' should stick together:)

*waves* Hello, again! Seriously, we SHOULD stick together...somebody was making snide comments about the "middle-aged housewives" in SPN fandom just today, and man...just NO.

*waves back*

and just what is wrong with middle-aged housewives? we can't be horny just cause we're not 20 anymore? that's just crazy!! we know more than these younger girls anyway, right?

but, really 40 is not middle-aged anyway:) age is all in the mind. in that case I'm 25 forever!
