So, new Battlestar Galactica tonight! I started out this post to whine about how I miss Viper pilot!Apollo and am not that impressed with politician!Apollo, but then...well, this happened:



...and I got distracted, even though I really don't like PETA (something about them euthanizing 90 percent of the pets they "rescue" seems...well...unethical.) And then, this happened:

No, this is the admiral's son. I don't think he did much in this past episode other than stand around looking good in a suit. I think he has more to do in tonight's ep. :D

About PETA, yeah, I didn't know until recently that they felt pets were better off dead than being, well, pets. How that's ethical, I have NO clue. D:

I'll definitely have to sneak a peek or two at tonight's ep - even if it involves him standing around looking good in a suit it would still be worth it now that I know what it's hiding. *grin*

Yeah, when I heard that I was appalled. The percentage of the pets they "rescue" and put down is really high. That also makes me wonder how closely people who donate to them read their mission statement because I can't bring myself to believe that a huge number of animal lovers would agree with that policy. We have a no kill shelter here in town that I'm interested in joining soon. They do a lot of TNR and low-cost spay/neuter, as well, which (IMHO) does a lot more to fix the problem than what PETA purportedly does.

Yay for no-kill shelters! I volunteer for a poodle rescue group. They have a farm. :D

What an awesome group! Those pups look so happy, too. I love that . . . that right there is a reason to do it - to make some furkid look that happy. :)

I'm clicking all the links over there and WOW, my cats would LOVE one of those beds. Eventually we want to have a room that's just theirs - it will be open to the rest of the house, but it'll have kitty wallpaper and cat walks and things of that sort and one of those big beds would be the perfect (purrfect? LOL) addition. :) (I'm sure the wallpaper will make them go, 'WHUT, mom? Fur srsly??' but it'll make me happy . . . LOL)

THIS is the place here in town. I don't have a car at this time, but I can program web pages and they have a program where they'll set up a page for any cats they don't presently have room for and then list them on Petfinder so I can volunteer to do that.
