Thing 1: Icons of the gag reel are spoilers. Who knew? Seriously. I try really hard not to spoil anyone, but I can't help thinking if being spoiled for the gag reel is going to ruin your day, maybe you shouldn't be reading a comm that's fairly infamous for posting uncut spoilers -- especially in the days prior to the new DVD set being released.

Thing 2: It's interesting to me that the only people who flutter on about maturity and call each other immature are ones who are quite young themselves.

1. I try to be careful about where I post them, but sometimes... eh, shit happens? I was pleasantly surprised that pretty much my entire flist is all about the gag reel, and seeing it, and posting about it, and iconning it. THRILLED. =oD

2. I have also found that "grow up" isn't really a term used by anyone over the age of 20.

For some people the DVD specials and especially the gag reel are the only reasons to buy the DVDs since there are episode downloads of a picture quality that surpasses that of the DVDs by far. So they buy them, and they're excited, and then, by the time they finally hold them in their hands (especially if they live overseas this can take a while), they know almost everything about the gag reel already because people quoted and icon'd it and posted it uncut.

I get how that can take the excitement and enjoyment out of the experience because I myself had to start watching the gag reel the minute it leaked just to prevent that fannish once-a-year experience being ruined. And I won't be buying the DVDs this year. Someone's bound to release the specials as a dl sooner or later.

Dude I am totally sorry for spoiling anyone who wanted to be shocked and amazed when Jensen / Dean turned into the Youtube chipmunk. I mean, that was going to be Kripke's moment mid-S4 and I ruined it for y'all!
