CW picks up Vampire Diaries pilot

fangirl_saysVariety is reporting that The CW has picked up a pilot based on the Vampire Diaries, a series of young-adult novels about a young woman torn between vampire brothers.
The pilot will be produced by Warner Bros., as well as Alloy Entertainment, which previously produced Gossip Girl and Priviledged from their respective book series. Kevin Williamson, writer for "Scream", "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Dawson's Creek," will executive produce and write. Julie Plec, who has written for Kyle XY, will also write and executive produce.
The Vampire Diaries began in 1993, which was apparently before the Twilight series began.
So, what say you? Will this series be more than a blood-sucking Gossip Girl? More to the point, will you watch?

Date: 2009-02-06 07:51 pm (UTC)So, no crappy CW series for me. The only thing I watch ont he CW is Supernatural and the moment that is finished I am walking away for good.... or until they fire Dawn Ostroff and replace her with someone with some taste.
